Effective date: September 15, 2026
The Center for State Service Innovation (the "Center") is an initiative of America's Service Commissions ("ASC") and Service Year Alliance ("SYA"). ASC and SYA jointly operate this website and are jointly responsible for information collected through it. In this Privacy Policy ("Policy"), we describe how we collect, use, and disclose information about visitors to this website (the "Site").
This Policy applies only to this Site. ASC and SYA operate other websites that are governed by their own privacy policies, including Service Year Exchange, which collects considerably more information than we do here.
By visiting the Site, you agree that your information will be handled as described in this Policy.
The Site has no accounts, no logins, and no user profiles. We collect information only when you choose to give it to us, which happens in two places:
We may automatically collect information about your use of the Site through cookies and similar technologies, including your browser type and operating system, the pages you view, the links you click, your IP address, how long you spend on the Site, the referring URL that led you here, and your access time and domain name. We use this information in aggregate to understand how the Site is used.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not run advertising on the Site, and we do not use the information we collect to target advertising to you elsewhere.
Cookies are small identifiers placed on your device through your browser. Session cookies last only for a single visit and disappear when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain afterward and help us understand aggregate usage over time. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can change your browser settings to block them, to be notified when you receive one, or to disable them entirely. You can browse this Site with cookies disabled, though some features may not work as intended. Our systems do not currently respond to browser do-not-track signals.
We use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to evaluate how the Site is used and to improve it. These providers may use cookies and similar technologies to perform their services. The Site also links to third-party websites, including those of our partners and funders. Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies, not this one, and we are not responsible for their information practices.
We take steps to protect the information we collect from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No security measure can guarantee complete protection, and we cannot promise that information transmitted over the internet will always remain secure.
You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of any message we send. You may also write to us to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it, and we will respond as required by applicable law. Please allow up to ten business days for us to process a request. Even after you opt out of the newsletter, we may still reply to questions you send us.
This Site is intended for state service leaders, policymakers, funders, and others working in the service field. It is not directed to children under thirteen. If we learn that a child under thirteen has given us personal information, we will delete it from our systems.
If you have questions about this Policy or would like to make a request or a complaint, write to us at info@centerforservice.org.
This Policy is current as of the effective date above. We may update it from time to time, so please check back periodically. We will post any changes on this page. If we make a change that materially affects how we handle information we have already collected from you, we will make a reasonable effort to give you notice in advance.
